Frankfort, KY – When do clocks fall back across Kentucky this year? Residents in Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, Owensboro, and Covington will turn their clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, marking the end of Daylight Saving Time across the Commonwealth.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, most of Kentucky will return to Eastern Standard Time, while counties in the western part of the state will observe Central Standard Time. The “fall back” gives residents an extra hour of sleep, but also brings earlier sunsets and longer nights across both regions.

In Louisville, sunset on Sunday will occur around 5:43 p.m. Eastern, while in Lexington, dusk will fall near 5:39 p.m. Western cities like Bowling Green and Owensboro will see sunset closer to 4:48 p.m. Central Time.

Fire and emergency officials encourage Kentuckians to check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace batteries during the time change—a twice-yearly safety reminder recommended nationwide.

Daylight Saving Time will resume on Sunday, March 8, 2026, when clocks “spring forward” by one hour again.
