Columbus, OH – When do clocks fall back across Ohio this year? Residents in Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Toledo, and Dayton will turn their clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, as Daylight Saving Time officially ends across the Buckeye State.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, Ohio will shift to Eastern Standard Time through early March 2026. The “fall back” provides an extra hour of sleep, but it also means noticeably earlier sunsets across the state as winter approaches.

In Columbus, sunset on Sunday will occur around 5:29 p.m., while in Cleveland, dusk will arrive closer to 5:16 p.m. Further south in Cincinnati, the sun will set near 5:34 p.m. Commuters and travelers should plan for darker evenings beginning early next week.

Fire departments across Ohio urge residents to use the time change as a reminder to check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace batteries—a long-standing safety habit encouraged nationwide.

Daylight Saving Time returns on Sunday, March 8, 2026, when clocks “spring forward” by one hour again.
