Wheaton, IL – Residents in DuPage County have a limited window this weekend to safely dispose of documents, electronics, and household items during a large-scale recycling event in Wheaton.

According to the City of Wheaton Government, the Recycling Extravaganza and Paper Shredding Event will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at the DuPage Fairgrounds. All traffic must enter from County Farm Road using the main DuPage County Government Center entrance, as Manchester Road access will be closed.

The drive-through event allows residents to drop off a wide range of items, including documents for on-site shredding, electronics like TVs and monitors, clothing, household goods, and small household hazardous waste. Officials note a limit of four bags per car for paper shredding.

Special collection areas will also accept medical waste such as medications and sharps, along with mobility equipment like wheelchairs and crutches.

Organizers urge residents to arrive early, as lines often build quickly for these events. Additional recycling opportunities may be announced later this season as communities continue spring cleanup efforts across the region.
