Wheaton, IL Hosts Electronic Recycling Drop-Off Event Saturday

Wheaton, IL – The City of Wheaton will hold its monthly electronic recycling drop-off on Saturday, October 12, from 9 a.m. to noon. Residents can bring electronics, scrap metal, cooking oils, and textiles to the Public Works Storage Yard at 820 W. Liberty Drive.

According to the City of Wheaton, participants should pack items in the trunk and avoid exiting their vehicles at the event. Items accepted include laptops, monitors, televisions, cameras, and more. Televisions and monitors require a fee of $25 to $35, depending on screen size.

Fluorescent tube lights are accepted, but CFL bulbs, hazardous materials, and batteries are not. For more information, visit Wheaton’s recycling webpage. The city holds these events every second Saturday of the month, providing an environmentally responsible way to dispose of electronic waste and other recyclable materials.
