Wheaton, IL – Hoffman Estates Man Arrested in 2022 UPS Store Kidnapping Case

Wheaton, IL – A Wheaton man was charged in connection with a kidnapping and car theft that occurred outside a UPS Store in April 2022.

According to Wheaton Police Chief Princeton Youker and DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin, the suspect, identified as Balint Kiss, 34, of Hoffman Estates, was charged after a lengthy investigation. On April 18, 2022, Kiss allegedly stole a vehicle with a five-year-old child inside from a parking lot at 20 Danada Square West. The child was found unharmed shortly after.

Kiss, already in custody on unrelated charges, was charged with aggravated kidnapping, kidnapping, and aggravated unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 24, 2024.
