Westfield, IN – An Ohio juvenile was arrested in Westfield, Indiana, on April 1, 2024, following the alleged theft of a vehicle that led to a police pursuit and an officer’s injury.
According to police reports, a chase began when Westfield Police officers received an alert for a vehicle, reported stolen from Noblesville, IN, traveling south on US 31. Efforts to stop the vehicle were futile as the driver refused to halt, prompting a chase through Westfield. The pursuit ended abruptly when the suspect lost control while turning from South St. onto N. Union St., colliding with a marked police vehicle. An officer, attempting to deploy stop sticks, was struck in the leg by the suspect’s vehicle, sustaining minor injuries.
The driver, identified only as a juvenile male from Dayton, OH, was taken into custody without further incident. He suffered minor injuries from the crash and was transported to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital. Charges against the juvenile include allegations of theft of a motor vehicle and resisting law enforcement.
