La Crosse, Wisconsin – Dry and comfortable conditions will hold through most of the weekend, but a shift begins late Sunday as rain returns and could impact evening travel across western Wisconsin.
According to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, a cold front moved through early Friday morning, bringing temperatures back to near-normal levels. Highs will stay in the 60 to 69 degree range Saturday, with overnight lows dipping into the low to mid-40s. Sunday warms slightly, with highs reaching 65 to 71 degrees before conditions change after sunset.
Communities along the Mississippi River, including La Crosse, Onalaska, and Prairie du Chien, will remain dry through at least mid-afternoon Sunday. However, rain chances increase to 20–60% beginning around 8 to 10 p.m., with scattered showers and possible thunderstorms developing overnight. Roads such as U.S. 14, U.S. 61, and I-90 could become slick, especially in low-visibility conditions after dark.
Outdoor plans earlier Sunday remain favorable, but those traveling late should prepare for changing conditions. Keep headlights on in rain, slow down on wet pavement, and monitor alerts if storms develop.
