Seattle, WA – A Wind Advisory remains in effect across portions of western Washington, including the northern coast, San Juan Islands, and parts of the Puget Sound region, as strong southeast winds continue through Friday evening, October 31.

According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, southeast winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected across Island County, western Whatcom County lowlands, Port Townsend, and San Juan County until 10 PM PDT, while the northern Washington coast remains under advisory until 7 PM.

Meteorologists warn that gusty winds could down tree limbs and cause isolated power outages, especially in areas exposed to the coast or higher terrain. Loose outdoor items such as decorations, patio furniture, and trash bins should be secured to prevent damage or hazards.

Drivers of high-profile vehicles are advised to use extra caution, particularly along open roadways and coastal highways where crosswinds may be strong.

Winds are expected to gradually diminish late Friday night as a frontal system moves inland, bringing calmer conditions by early Saturday morning.
