Bellingham, WA – A Wind Advisory remains in effect for northwestern Washington, including Bellingham and the San Juan Islands, through 2 p.m. Monday, October 13, according to the National Weather Service in Seattle.

Forecasters report northeast winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph, continuing overnight and into Monday morning. The strongest winds are expected along exposed coastal areas and higher elevations near the Canadian border.

The National Weather Service cautions that the gusty conditions could knock down tree limbs and cause isolated power outages, particularly where soils remain saturated. Drivers of high-profile vehicles are urged to use extra caution, and residents should secure outdoor furniture, decorations, and trash bins ahead of the strongest winds.

Winds are expected to gradually diminish by late afternoon Monday.
