Seattle, WA – Multiple Wind Advisories are in effect across Western Washington today, with forecasters warning of gusty coastal and island winds that could cause scattered power outages and difficult travel conditions through tonight.

According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, south to southeast winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected from 2 p.m. to midnight inland and until 9 p.m. along the coast. Impacted areas include the northern Washington coast, Grays Harbor County, San Juan County, Island County, Port Townsend, and the lowlands of western Whatcom County.

Communities such as Ocean Shores, Westport, Port Townsend, Bellingham, Friday Harbor, and Langley may experience the strongest gusts late this afternoon and evening. The NWS warns that winds could knock down small tree limbs, scatter unsecured objects, and cause isolated power outages, particularly in coastal and island zones.

Residents are urged to secure outdoor items and use caution when driving, especially over bridges or in high-profile vehicles. Conditions are expected to gradually ease overnight as the front moves east across the Cascades.
