Bellingham, WA – The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Wind Advisory for the San Juan Islands, Island County, western Whatcom County, and the Port Townsend area, in effect from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.
Forecasters warn of south winds 15–30 mph, with gusts up to 45–50 mph, impacting areas including Friday Harbor, Port Townsend, Langley, Bellingham, and Freeland. These gusts could cause tree limbs to break, unsecured objects to blow around, and localized power outages.
Motorists, especially those driving high-profile vehicles, should use extra caution when traveling across bridges and exposed roadways such as SR 20 and I-5 near Bellingham.
The strongest winds are expected early this morning through midday, gradually easing by late afternoon as the system moves east.
