Seattle, Washington – Floodwaters are already covering roads and farmland across western Washington early Sunday, with the Snohomish River reaching 27.7 feet and pushing into highways and low-lying communities.

According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, multiple Flood Warnings remain in effect through Sunday afternoon and into the night for rivers across King, Snohomish, and Skagit counties. The most significant impacts are along the Snohomish River at Snohomish, where moderate flooding is inundating portions of the Snohomish-Monroe Highway and nearby lowlands.

Minor flooding continues along the Snoqualmie River near Carnation, where water levels reached 54.4 feet, spilling into farmland and covering roads from Fall City through Duvall. In Snohomish County, the Snohomish River near Monroe is also above flood stage, impacting pastureland and secondary roads. Farther north, the Skagit River near Mount Vernon is flooding low-lying areas from Sedro-Woolley downstream.

In Renton, the Cedar River is expected to briefly rise above flood stage again overnight, potentially impacting neighborhoods along the riverbanks.

Drivers should avoid barricaded roads and never attempt to cross flooded areas. Water levels are expected to gradually fall through Sunday, but some flooding will persist into the evening hours, with additional updates expected by mid-morning.
