Burlington, VT – A Frost Advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. Friday through 9 a.m. Saturday across parts of northwestern Vermont and northeastern New York, as temperatures are expected to dip into the low to mid-30s overnight.
According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, frost formation is likely across Grand Isle, Western Chittenden, Western Addison, and Western Franklin Counties in Vermont, along with Eastern Clinton and Eastern Essex Counties in New York.
Communities including Burlington, Plattsburgh, Middlebury, Vergennes, and Ticonderoga are expected to see frost develop late tonight. While some lingering clouds may briefly delay cooling, clear skies and calm winds will create ideal conditions for frost formation before sunrise.
Residents are urged to protect tender vegetation by covering or moving plants indoors. Sensitive crops and garden flowers could be damaged or killed if left uncovered.
Saturday morning will start chilly, but temperatures are forecast to rebound into the upper 50s by afternoon, with another potential frost threat early next week if skies remain clear.
