PITTSBURGH, Pa. – After a cloudy start, Pittsburgh will warm into the mid-80s with sunshine dominating Friday before another round of showers and storms threatens the region late in the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, Thursday will bring only a slight chance of showers after 3 p.m., with highs near 83. Clear skies return Thursday night before Friday delivers the week’s warmest and sunniest day, topping out near 86 with light winds.

By Saturday, conditions turn more unstable. A high near 89 will make it feel summery, but showers may begin developing after sunset. Storm chances rise further into Sunday, when thunderstorms could impact travel, outdoor events, and utility service. The heaviest rain and lightning risk will come Sunday afternoon into the evening.

Residents are urged to monitor weather updates and plan for potential disruptions. Those heading outdoors this weekend should keep devices charged and have alternate shelter plans in case storms arrive quickly.

Storm chances diminish Sunday night, giving way to cooler, mostly clear skies by Monday morning. Additional advisories may be issued as the weekend weather system develops.
