Western Pennsylvania Temperatures Drop Into 70s Monday–Wednesday After Weekend Heat

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Summer heat will top out Saturday across western Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia, with highs climbing into the mid-80s in Pittsburgh, Morgantown, and Wheeling before a sharp cooldown arrives early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, today will be the warmest of the week, with highs reaching 85°F in several cities. By Monday, temperatures will fall into the upper 60s and low 70s, holding through Wednesday before rebounding toward more seasonable conditions near 80°F by late week.

The temperature swing will be most noticeable Tuesday, when Du Bois could see highs only in the mid-60s while Morgantown and Wheeling stay in the upper 60s. Pittsburgh will hover near 70°F Tuesday and Wednesday, marking the coolest stretch in several weeks.

Travelers and residents should be prepared for cooler mornings, with lows dipping into the 50s across higher elevations. The National Weather Service advises residents to plan outdoor activities accordingly and keep an eye on changing conditions as the week progresses.

Temperatures will moderate Thursday into the weekend, with highs returning to the mid-70s to near 80°F by Friday and Saturday.
