PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Dense fog may reduce visibility across Pittsburgh and much of western Pennsylvania early Saturday, creating hazardous driving conditions before 9 a.m. Calm winds and near 82-degree highs will follow, making way for a clear and dry evening.
According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, patchy fog is likely to return Sunday morning before giving way to sunshine and highs in the lower 80s. Winds will remain light through the weekend, keeping conditions stable and travel impacts minimal after the morning hours.
By Monday night, conditions begin to change as clouds increase and showers move toward Allegheny, Washington, and Westmoreland counties. A 30% chance of rain is expected overnight Monday, climbing to a 70% chance Tuesday afternoon. The heaviest rainfall is expected Tuesday night into Wednesday, with an 80–90% chance of widespread showers and storms.
Drivers should be prepared for slick roadways and reduced visibility both during early morning fog this weekend and during heavier rain midweek. Residents are advised to keep devices charged and allow extra travel time if commuting Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
Rain chances remain elevated through Wednesday before skies clear again by Thursday.
