Western Pennsylvania Hit by Tornadoes: EF-1 Damage Confirmed in Indiana and Westmoreland Counties

Pittsburgh, PA – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Pittsburgh has confirmed two additional tornadoes in western Pennsylvania following recent severe storms. Officials reported that an EF-1 tornado struck near Ligonier, originating from the same storm line that produced a tornado in Donegal, while another EF-1 tornado touched down near Josephine in Indiana County.

According to the NWS, these tornadoes add to a pattern of severe weather in the region, with the last recorded tornado in Indiana County occurring on June 26, 2024. Officials have also confirmed tornado damage in Westmoreland County near Donegal.

Residents in affected areas are advised to assess damage cautiously and stay updated on further weather alerts. The NWS will provide additional details as assessments continue.
