Pittsburgh, PA – As Western Pennsylvania continues to endure a heatwave, tonight’s temperatures will remain uncomfortably high. The National Weather Service Pittsburgh reports a current temperature of 88°F with a heat index of 90°F, emphasizing the need for residents to stay cool and hydrated.

According to forecasts, the heatwave will persist through the evening, with temperatures hovering in the mid-80s after sunset. Wind gusts of up to 10 mph offer little relief from the heat. Areas such as Butler, PA, and Kittanning, PA, are also experiencing high heat indices, prompting safety advisories.

Looking ahead, Sunday’s high will reach 94°F, while Monday’s temperatures will peak at 93°F despite a slight chance of rain. Tuesday will be the hottest day of the week, with temperatures expected to hit 96°F. A slight reprieve is anticipated on Wednesday with highs dropping to 70°F and a 45% chance of rain.

Thursday and Friday will bring cooler temperatures, ranging from 67°F to 81°F, and the weekend promises partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid-80s. The National Weather Service advises residents to follow heat safety tips during this prolonged period of high temperatures.
