Pittsburgh, PA – Western Pennsylvania is set to experience a sweltering heat wave over the coming days, with temperatures forecasted to reach the low to mid-90s. According to the US National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, heat index values will soar, making it feel even hotter.

Starting today, Pittsburgh will see clear skies with temperatures peaking at 92°F. Sunday promises more sun and a high of 93°F. The high heat continues into Monday, with a high of 90°F and a 55% chance of precipitation in the evening, indicating potential relief from the oppressive temperatures.

By Tuesday, temperatures will rise again, hitting 94°F, with partly cloudy skies. The heat will persist into Wednesday, with a high of 93°F and a 45% chance of showers, potentially breaking the heatwave. Thursday and Friday will offer some respite, with temperatures dropping to the mid-60s and low 70s.

The National Weather Service warns residents to take precautions during this period of extreme heat, including staying hydrated, avoiding strenuous outdoor activities, and checking on vulnerable populations such as the elderly and young children.
