Pittsburgh, PA – A freeze watch has been issued for Western Pennsylvania counties starting late Monday night through 9 a.m. Tuesday. Residents in Venango, Forest, Clarion, and Jefferson counties should expect temperatures to drop to 32 degrees.
According to the National Weather Service, the freeze could kill tender crops and damage unprotected plumbing. Frost is likely to form, and those with plants and gardens should take steps to prevent damage.
Farmers and gardeners are encouraged to protect vulnerable plants and vegetation by bringing them indoors or covering them. The freeze watch remains in effect until Tuesday morning.
