Buffalo, NY – Cool air and scattered showers are keeping much of western and central New York wet and breezy this Saturday, with high temperatures stuck in the 50s from Buffalo to Watertown.
According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, rainfall will be most widespread through late morning, before tapering off from west to east by early afternoon. Roads could remain slick into midday, especially in areas like Springville, Geneva, and Fulton where persistent showers may linger.
Cities along the I-90 corridor, including Rochester, Batavia, and Syracuse, will hover around the mid to upper 50s, while towns farther south like Wellsville and Olean won’t crack 55 degrees. The cooler air, paired with steady winds, could make it feel even chillier—so a light jacket is a good idea if you’re heading out.
While no major flooding or severe weather is expected, the damp start could delay outdoor plans or weekend events, especially in the Finger Lakes and Lake Ontario regions. Motorists should watch for slick spots on rural roads and low-visibility patches during heavier morning downpours.
Rain chances drop significantly after 3 p.m., with drier conditions likely overnight. Another round of unsettled weather is possible early next week.
