Greenville, South Carolina – Localized flooding is possible across the Carolina foothills as daily rounds of showers and thunderstorms settle in through Monday night, bringing up to 3 inches of rain to parts of western North Carolina and northwestern South Carolina.

According to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, the heaviest rainfall is expected along the Blue Ridge, particularly in Transylvania, Jackson, and southern Buncombe counties, where totals could top 2.5 inches. Daily rain chances will persist through the weekend, with isolated thunderstorms each afternoon and evening.

Communities along I-26 from Brevard to Spartanburg should prepare for water pooling on roads and slower commutes. Urban flooding is possible in low-lying spots, especially during periods of heavy downpours. Drivers are urged to use caution and avoid flooded roadways.

Lighter rainfall totals are expected further east, with only a quarter-inch possible near Charlotte and Rock Hill. Temperatures will stay slightly below average, with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s for most areas.

The wet pattern is expected to taper off Monday night, with drier and more stable conditions likely returning by early next week.
