Greenville, SC – The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Frost Advisory for portions of western and north-central North Carolina, in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2025.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures are expected to fall between 32 and 37 degrees, leading to widespread frost formation overnight. The advisory includes areas such as Asheville, Hendersonville, Brevard, Hickory, Statesville, and Salisbury, along with surrounding mountain and foothill communities.
Counties under the advisory include Buncombe, Henderson, Transylvania, Alexander, Iredell, Davie, Catawba, Rowan, and Lincoln, as well as the Caldwell, Burke, and McDowell Mountains.
Forecasters warn that the frost could damage or kill sensitive outdoor plants if left uncovered. Residents are urged to cover or bring inside tender vegetation and to protect outdoor plumbing as temperatures dip near freezing.
Clear skies and calm winds are expected to allow temperatures to drop quickly overnight. Saturday will bring a sunny but cool start, with highs reaching the mid-50s to near 60 by afternoon.
