Western New York Weekend Weather: Sunny Saturday Before Rain Moves in Sunday Night

Buffalo, N.Y. – Western New York will see a warm, mostly sunny stretch heading into the weekend before showers return late Sunday night, bringing a cooler start to the new week. Temperatures will climb into the upper 70s and low 80s through Sunday, making Saturday the better outdoor day.

According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, skies will stay clear tonight before clouds increase Friday. Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high near 71, followed by another mild evening. Conditions shift Sunday night, when showers are expected after 2 a.m. with a 30% chance of rain that grows stronger into Monday.

Buffalo could see a high of 81 on Sunday, but by Monday the chance of showers increases to 40% during the morning and 50% overnight. Winds will stay light through the weekend but could pick up during passing showers. Commuters should expect slick roads Monday morning and possible delays on the I-90 corridor and city side streets.

Residents planning outdoor events should use Saturday as the prime day, while keeping rain gear handy for the start of the week. Additional advisories may be issued if rain totals increase.
