Buffalo, New York – A cool but improving day is underway, with sunshine returning this afternoon before a quick warm-up and rain chances arrive by Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, morning clouds will give way to sunshine today, with highs reaching between 45°F and 50°F across western New York, including Buffalo, Niagara Falls, and Jamestown. Conditions remain dry through the afternoon, offering a window for outdoor plans.

Temperatures drop quickly tonight under clear skies, with lows falling into the low 30s, and even into the upper 20s across the North Country. Patchy frost is possible in colder inland areas, especially in sheltered valleys.

By Sunday, a warm front moves into the region, bringing increasing clouds during the morning and highs climbing into the 60°F to 65°F range. Areas east of Lake Ontario may stay slightly cooler. A few scattered showers are expected to develop during the afternoon, potentially impacting travel along I-90 and I-190 with brief wet roads.

Residents should prepare for cooler conditions tonight, then a milder but slightly unsettled day Sunday. Additional rain chances may follow into early next week.
