Jamestown, NY – A lake effect snow warning remains in effect for Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties until 4 a.m. Saturday, with up to 14 inches of snow expected in the heaviest snow bands.

According to the National Weather Service, heavy snowfall will shift out of the region late Thursday but return Friday afternoon, continuing into Saturday morning. Wind gusts reaching 45 mph will contribute to blowing snow, reducing visibility, and creating hazardous road conditions.

Evening commutes on Thursday and Friday are expected to be challenging, and power outages are possible as gusty winds may bring down tree branches. Travelers are urged to exercise caution and be prepared for sudden changes in weather and visibility.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updates and report snowfall amounts through the National Weather Service’s website or social media. Non-essential travel is discouraged during the storm’s peak periods.
