Buffalo, NY – A significant winter storm is set to impact western New York starting Sunday, bringing a dangerous mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Travel will be hazardous, and power outages are possible.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 10 a.m. Saturday through 1 a.m. Monday. Ice accumulation of up to two-tenths of an inch could lead to fallen tree branches and power outages. Winds up to 45 mph will worsen conditions, especially on major roadways.

Sunday night into Monday will bring additional snow showers and blowing snow, reducing visibility. Wind chills could fall to -15°F by Monday night, making outdoor exposure dangerous.

Residents should charge devices, prepare emergency kits, and avoid travel if possible. Officials recommend monitoring weather updates and checking road conditions before heading out.
