Buffalo, NY – Residents in Buffalo and surrounding areas will face dangerously cold temperatures through Wednesday as wind chills plunge to -20°F. A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Tuesday, with frigid conditions continuing into midweek.

According to the National Weather Service, bitter wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin within 30 minutes. Winds will gust up to 29 mph overnight, making temperatures feel even colder. Tuesday will bring a high of only 15°F, with breezy conditions and a slight chance of snow showers in the afternoon.

Wednesday remains bitterly cold, with a high of 17°F and overnight lows dipping to single digits. Snow showers are possible late Wednesday into Thursday, with increasing cloud cover. Warmer temperatures arrive by the weekend, with highs climbing back to the mid-20s by Saturday.

Residents should limit outdoor exposure, bundle up in layers, and cover all exposed skin to prevent frostbite. Those in need of warming shelters should check with local authorities.
