Reno, Nev. – Triple-digit temperatures and warm overnight lows are set to grip western Nevada and Surprise Valley, California, through 11 a.m. Wednesday, as a Heat Advisory remains in effect for the Reno-Carson-Minden corridor. Officials warn of a major risk of heat-related illness, especially for those without access to air conditioning.

According to the National Weather Service in Reno, daytime highs will reach 95 to 105 degrees, with nighttime temperatures offering little relief—staying in the mid-60s to low 70s. The advisory began at 11 a.m. Sunday and continues through Wednesday morning, covering both urban and rural communities across the region.

Residents in Reno, Carson City, Minden, and Surprise Valley should avoid outdoor activities between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., stay hydrated, and seek air-conditioned spaces. Health officials recommend wearing light-colored clothing and minimizing sun exposure to reduce heat stress.

The advisory may be extended if conditions persist. Stay tuned to NWS Reno for updates and heat safety tips throughout the week.
