Kansas City, MO – The remnants of Beryl are set to bring heavy rain to western Missouri, with Kansas City bracing for severe weather conditions. Isolated to scattered storms are expected on Wednesday, some of which could be strong, featuring gusty winds and quarter-size hail.

According to the US National Weather Service in Kansas City, heavy rain will impact the region today. Rainfall amounts are anticipated to range between 0.25 to 1.5 inches, with the heaviest precipitation expected in the afternoon and evening hours. The storms will taper off by early Wednesday morning, but not before delivering potentially damaging winds and hail.

Looking ahead, the forecast shows hot and humid conditions returning this weekend, with temperatures soaring into the mid to upper 90s. Heat index values are predicted to reach between 100 and 105 degrees, posing a significant risk for heat-related illnesses. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged outdoor activities during peak heat hours.

This pattern of severe weather is expected to continue into next week. Thursday and Friday will see temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s, with a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms. The weekend will bring even hotter temperatures, with highs reaching the upper 90s and potentially hitting 100 degrees on Sunday and Monday.
