Minnesota – Rainfall is anticipated across western Minnesota on Wednesday, with totals reaching between 0.25 and 0.5 inches by evening. This weather system is likely to bring slick conditions to highways, including portions of Interstate 90, and could impact visibility, especially during peak travel times.
According to the U.S. National Weather Service Twin Cities, the western half of the state is most likely to see steady rainfall, while areas further east will remain drier due to incoming dry air. By Thursday, however, conditions will stabilize, with clouds clearing gradually, although patchy fog may linger in the morning across the region.
The rain on Wednesday is expected to taper off by late evening, followed by patchy fog in the early hours of Thursday. Daytime temperatures on Thursday should reach around 49°F in Minneapolis, with calm winds and partly sunny skies, providing some respite after Wednesday’s wet conditions. On Friday, more patchy fog may develop in the morning, with clear skies and a high near 53°F later in the day.
The weekend promises milder, mostly sunny weather across the state. Saturday is expected to be sunny, with highs around 56°F, while Sunday will bring similar conditions with temperatures around 50°F. By Monday, there is a 40% chance of rain, signaling another possible wet start to the week.
Motorists in western Minnesota are encouraged to drive carefully, as rain may lead to slippery roads and occasional low visibility. For the latest updates and detailed forecast, visit the National Weather Service website.
