Grand Rapids, MI – A mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is set to impact Grand Rapids on Friday, creating hazardous road conditions across the area.

According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Friday, with snowfall totals up to half an inch and ice accumulations reaching a tenth of an inch. Gusty winds up to 34 mph could worsen travel conditions, especially during the morning commute.

Friday’s high will reach 26°F, with mostly cloudy skies and light winds. By Friday night, temperatures will drop to 18°F, with continued cloud cover. Saturday brings another round of 90% chance of snow, with accumulations of up to two inches possible.

Drivers should plan for extra travel time, reduce speeds, and stay updated on road conditions. If travel is necessary, carry an emergency kit and check weather alerts frequently.

Looking ahead, Sunday will see partly sunny skies with highs near 28°F, offering a brief break before more winter weather moves in next week.
