Western Michigan Weather: Warm Weekend Ahead Before Monday Rain

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A burst of unseasonably warm air is holding across western Michigan this weekend, with sunshine and highs in the mid-80s continuing through Sunday before showers bring a sharp cooldown early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids, Saturday and Sunday will stay mostly sunny and breezy, with southwesterly gusts up to 23 mph. By Monday afternoon, clouds will increase and a 30 percent chance of showers develops after 2 p.m., rising to 80 percent by Monday night as a cold front pushes through.

Rain is expected to linger into Tuesday morning before temperatures drop nearly 20 degrees, with highs only reaching the mid-60s and overnight lows dipping into the 40s by midweek. The midweek stretch looks calm and cooler, with sunny skies returning Wednesday and Thursday.

Drivers should watch for wet roads late Monday and early Tuesday, especially during the morning commute. Outdoor plans this weekend remain safe, but conditions will turn cooler and damp early next week.
