Grand Rapids, MI – Gray skies and damp air set the stage across West Michigan this morning, a fitting transition as the state moves from Halloween’s mild air toward November’s first cool pattern. Light showers are expected to drift in by evening, with more scattered rain arriving through Saturday as temperatures begin to dip back toward the lower 50s.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids, Friday will stay partly sunny with highs near 53°F before clouds increase tonight. Winds could gust near 20 mph during the day, making it feel brisk at times. Rain chances pick up Saturday afternoon, and by Saturday night, pockets of steady light rain could dampen travel along I-96 and US-131, especially during the early evening.

Sunday clears gradually, with skies turning partly sunny and temperatures hovering in the low 50s — crisp and calm as November officially begins. Those heading out early may notice patchy fog in low-lying areas before the sun breaks through.

Looking ahead, Monday starts cooler with highs in the low 50s before climbing slightly by Tuesday. Sunshine returns midweek, but models hint at a colder system developing toward the end of next week — possibly bringing Michigan’s first measurable snowflakes of the season north of Muskegon and Big Rapids.

After all, it’s November in Michigan — and that first snow tease may not be far away.
