Grand Rapids, MI – A tranquil start to the week will quickly give way to unsettled and stormy conditions, with thunderstorms expected to develop across West Michigan by Tuesday afternoon. The primary window for this activity could impact evening commutes and outdoor plans.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday, mainly after 2 p.m. These storms will usher in a much wetter period. Conditions on Wednesday will be damp, with an 80 percent chance of showers and a possible thunderstorm, mainly before 8 p.m. Temperatures will hover in the high 80s on Tuesday before dropping slightly to a high near 81 on Wednesday.

The wet pattern may linger into the Juneteenth holiday. A 30 percent chance of showers remains on Thursday, primarily before 8 a.m., under mostly sunny skies with a high near 77 degrees. Residents should keep an eye on changing conditions, especially if planning outdoor celebrations.

Looking ahead, drier and clearer weather is set to return for the weekend. Friday will be mostly sunny with a high near 81, leading into a pleasant Saturday with partly sunny skies and temperatures around 87 degrees. The warmth continues into Sunday, which is expected to be mostly sunny and hot with a high near 91.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms could return after 2 a.m. on Monday, kicking off the next work week with potentially active weather.
