Grand Rapids, MI – Residents of western Michigan should prepare for a warm and sunny weekend as temperatures are expected to rise significantly. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Grand Rapids reports that Saturday will see highs ranging from 86 to 92 degrees, with temperatures away from the lakeshore reaching around 90 degrees. The day will be characterized by mostly sunny skies and a light northwest wind blowing at 5 to 10 mph.

According to the NWS, this heat will continue through Sunday, where similar conditions will prevail, albeit with slightly cooler temperatures reaching up to 86 degrees. The warm weather is a result of high-pressure systems dominating the region, bringing clear skies and minimal cloud cover.

However, a change is expected as the week progresses. By Monday, a 40% chance of rain is anticipated, with temperatures dropping slightly to a high of 81 degrees. The possibility of showers increases on Tuesday, with a 70% chance of rain and a significant temperature drop to around 75 degrees. Following the rain, cooler air will move in, bringing highs in the upper 50s to low 60s from Wednesday through Friday.
