Grand Rapids, MI – Western Michigan is preparing for several rounds of strong to severe storms, forecasted to hit the region through Monday. The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a warning for damaging winds up to 60 mph and hail up to one inch in diameter.
According to the National Weather Service, the storms are expected to be at their most intense between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Monday. Residents should be on alert for potential power outages and property damage due to high winds and hail.
Adding to the weather concerns, an air quality alert has been issued for Grand Rapids, effective until 10:45 p.m. on Monday. The alert warns of potentially hazardous conditions due to high levels of pollutants in the air.
The 10-day forecast for Western Michigan shows a mix of weather conditions. Today, the temperature is expected to reach a high of 87°F with partly cloudy skies. Monday’s forecast predicts a high of 88°F with possible thunderstorms in the afternoon. Tuesday will see a slight drop in temperature to 82°F with mostly sunny conditions.
The rest of the week brings cooler and more stable weather. Wednesday is expected to be sunny with a high of 79°F, and Thursday will see partly cloudy skies with a high of 76°F. Friday and Saturday are forecasted to be sunny, with temperatures reaching 78°F and 81°F, respectively.
