Paducah, KY – On-and-off showers and thunderstorms will continue across western Kentucky and surrounding regions through Thursday, bringing the potential for 1 to 2.5 inches of rain.
According to the National Weather Service Paducah office, residents in southern Illinois, southeast Missouri, and western Kentucky should expect near- to below-normal temperatures alongside elevated rain chances midweek. Cities including Cape Girardeau, Evansville, and Paducah could see highs only in the upper 70s to low 80s through Thursday, with nighttime lows in the 50s and 60s.
The highest rain chances are expected Wednesday night into Thursday morning, with some locations seeing storm coverage near 70 percent. The unsettled pattern may lead to brief periods of heavy rainfall, though widespread flooding is not currently forecast.
Drier and warmer weather will return Friday and continue through the weekend into early next week. High temperatures are expected to climb back into the mid-80s, offering a more seasonable and comfortable stretch for outdoor plans.
The National Weather Service advises drivers to allow extra time for travel during periods of rain and to watch for ponding on roadways. Residents are encouraged to stay alert to updated forecasts as conditions evolve through Thursday.
