Paducah, Kentucky – Cloud-to-ground lightning poses the main hazard across western Kentucky and surrounding areas through Tuesday as isolated thunderstorms redevelop east of the Mississippi River. While the severe weather risk remains low, outdoor plans and travel could be briefly disrupted by pop-up storms and heavy downpours.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible today and again Tuesday, with the greatest storm coverage expected on the Illinois and Kentucky side of the river. No widespread severe weather is forecast, but lightning and brief heavy rain may impact outdoor workers, drivers, and late-summer events. Spotter activation is not currently expected.

Monday: Showers and thunderstorms mainly after 11 a.m., 40% chance. High near 85°F.
Monday Night: Continued storm chances (30%) early. Low near 68°F.
Tuesday: Slightly higher storm potential, especially after 1 p.m. High near 86°F.
Wednesday: Sunny, calm, and dry. High near 89°F.
Thursday: Warmer and clear, with highs in the low 90s.

Dry and calm weather takes hold midweek, but today and Tuesday will require extra caution for those working or traveling outdoors. Lightning remains the key concern. Next update expected by Tuesday morning, with new alerts possible if coverage increases.
