Paducah, KY – Western Kentucky residents should prepare for a stretch of wet weather, with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected through Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, a wetter pattern is emerging, and daily rainfall totals could add up to 2 to 3 inches by the end of the week. Locally heavier amounts are also possible, raising the risk of flash flooding in low-lying or poorly drained areas.
Forecasters expect highs between the upper 80s and low 90s Sunday, cooling to the upper 70s and low 80s by Tuesday. Overnight lows will remain in the 60s. Scattered thunderstorms are likely each day, and the heaviest rain could fall in pockets where storms linger.
Drivers are urged to use caution during downpours, as ponding on roads and reduced visibility could slow travel. Residents are also advised to monitor local forecasts in case flood watches or warnings are issued later this week.
The unsettled weather may continue beyond midweek, depending on storm development and shifting patterns.
