Paducah, KY – Western Kentucky is about to experience a dramatic weather shift as the unseasonably warm temperatures on Saturday give way to a cold front starting Sunday. Residents are advised to prepare for falling temperatures and the first frost of the season by Tuesday night, potentially impacting travel along key roadways like I-24 and US-45.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Paducah, today’s high will range from 83-87 degrees, with a light southwest wind. However, by Sunday, a cold front will sweep through the region, bringing temperatures down to highs of 79-86 degrees and lows dipping into the 40s. Winds will increase to 14 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph, marking the start of a cooler weather pattern.

Monday will bring a significant drop in temperatures, with highs only reaching the low 60s. Frost is expected Tuesday night and Wednesday morning as overnight lows fall into the 30s, marking the season’s first freezing conditions. The NWS has issued a frost advisory for Tuesday night through Wednesday for areas along I-69 and rural western Kentucky.
