Dodge City, KS – Strong west-to-northwest winds of 30 to 40 mph, with gusts reaching up to 70 mph, are expected to impact western Kansas overnight, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Dodge City.

After 11 p.m., precipitation will increase, with areas of light rain or snow developing across the region. The system is expected to intensify, transitioning to all snow after 1 a.m. west of a Hays-to-Garden City-to-Elkhart line.

NWS warns that while little accumulation is anticipated through 3 a.m., strong winds could lead to reduced visibility due to blowing snow. Residents should prepare for hazardous travel conditions and take precautions against strong wind gusts, which may impact high-profile vehicles and outdoor structures.

Drivers are urged to use caution, especially in areas prone to sudden visibility drops. Those traveling overnight should stay updated on weather alerts and road conditions.
