Des Moines, IA – Western Iowa residents are waking up to patchy fog this morning, with visibilities dropping as low as 1/4 mile in some areas. Motorists should be alert for sudden changes in visibility and use low-beam headlights while driving. The fog is expected to dissipate after daybreak, giving way to clearer conditions.

According to the National Weather Service Des Moines, the region will experience temperatures in the low 80s today with partly cloudy skies. As the week progresses, a warming trend will be observed. On Tuesday, temperatures are expected to rise to the mid-80s with similar conditions continuing through Wednesday and Thursday, where the highs will hover around 85°F.

The end of the week will see an increase in temperatures, with Friday reaching 87°F and sunny skies. The weekend forecast indicates even warmer weather, with Saturday’s high projected at 89°F and Sunday reaching into the low 90s. This hot spell will extend into early next week, with Monday and Tuesday seeing highs of 93°F and 94°F, respectively.
