Grand Junction, CO – Western Colorado will enjoy a comfortable, sunny Sunday before a sharp rise in temperatures early next week brings triple-digit heat back to the region. Highs Sunday will hover near 92°F under mostly sunny skies, offering one last mild day before the heat intensifies.

According to the National Weather Service, light west winds at 5 to 15 mph will keep Sunday pleasant, but Monday will see a jump to 94°F before peaking near 100°F on Tuesday. Overnight lows will remain in the 60s, providing limited relief from the daytime heat.

Residents are advised to limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours starting Tuesday, stay hydrated, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Those with outdoor projects or events should take advantage of Sunday’s more comfortable weather.

This hot spell is expected to linger through at least midweek, with only slight cooling by Thursday. More heat advisories may be issued if temperatures push higher than anticipated.
