GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – After several days of unsettled weather across the Western Slope, conditions are beginning to calm as drier air moves into western Colorado and eastern Utah. However, the National Weather Service in Grand Junction says some lingering showers and isolated thunderstorms will persist through Tuesday before clearer skies arrive midweek.
A Flood Watch remains in effect for portions of the San Juan Mountains and Gunnison River Valley, where saturated soils may still lead to localized flooding in low-lying or recently affected areas. Motorists are advised to avoid flooded roads and use caution near creeks and arroyos that may rise unexpectedly.
Tuesday will bring scattered morning showers, gradually giving way to sunshine and highs near 74°F. A few isolated storms could redevelop Wednesday afternoon as a weak disturbance passes, but rainfall amounts are expected to be light. By Thursday, conditions turn dry and mild with highs around 60°F and cool nights dipping into the 30s.
The end of the week and weekend look ideal for outdoor plans across Mesa County, with abundant sunshine and temperatures rebounding into the mid-60s to near 70°F.
