Greenville, SC – A stretch of unsettled weather is expected this week across western North Carolina, upstate South Carolina, and northeast Georgia, with storms increasing midweek and cooler temperatures arriving by Friday.

According to the National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg, isolated afternoon mountain showers and thunderstorms will continue through Tuesday, with temperatures running above seasonal averages. Conditions are expected to change Wednesday and Thursday as a frontal system moves in, bringing higher chances of rain and thunderstorms across the region.

The wet pattern is forecast to persist into Thursday night and Friday, with widespread rainfall possible. By the end of the week, cooler air will settle in, dropping temperatures to near or even slightly below normal for late September.

Forecasters say the shift will be noticeable for residents who have been experiencing above-normal warmth so far this month. After Thursday’s storm chances, highs will trend downward, offering a taste of fall conditions heading into the weekend.

Motorists should prepare for potentially slick roads during midweek commutes, especially during heavier rainfall periods. Outdoor plans from Wednesday through Friday may also be affected by the storm chances.
