Charleston, WV – A tropical system is bringing temporary relief from the heat and humidity to West Virginia, offering a cool front that will linger over the next few days. According to the US National Weather Service in Charleston, the remnants of Beryl, now an extratropical system, have swept through the region, reducing temperatures and lowering humidity.

Today, temperatures are expected to stay relatively low, not rising much from the morning’s warm start. Breezy conditions will prevail with decreasing humidity by this afternoon. The forecast remains dry from tonight through Thursday night, offering more seasonable temperatures and a continued respite from the humidity.

Friday will mark the beginning of a warming trend, with temperatures rising through the weekend. Highs are expected to reach 85°F today, climbing to 86°F on Thursday, and 91°F on Friday. The heat will peak over the weekend with temperatures soaring to 93°F on Saturday and 91°F on Sunday. The trend continues into next week, with highs expected to hit 94°F on Monday and Tuesday.

Despite the increasing temperatures, the humidity will remain relatively low through the weekend. Next week’s forecast predicts typical mid-summer weather for West Virginia, featuring hot and humid conditions with mainly diurnal storms. Wednesday brings a slight chance of showers with a 35% probability of precipitation and a high of 85°F.
