Beckley, WV – Southeast West Virginia residents should prepare for hazardous winter weather Sunday as a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect.
The National Weather Service (NWS) reports mixed precipitation will impact the region, with snow and sleet accumulations up to two inches and ice as thick as two-tenths of an inch. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph, adding to the hazardous conditions. Affected areas include Southeast Webster, Fayette, Nicholas, Raleigh, and Pocahontas counties.
According to the NWS, the advisory began early Sunday and will continue until 7 p.m. for most counties and 1 a.m. Monday in Southeast Pocahontas. Drivers should expect slippery roads and reduced visibility.
