West Virginia – A significant warming trend will sweep across West Virginia starting Friday, bringing hot and dry conditions through the weekend and into early next week.

Saturday will see a notable increase in temperatures, reaching highs around 87 degrees in Charleston. Cities like Huntington and Parkersburg will experience similar warmth, with highs nearing 90 degrees. Elkins and Beckley will be slightly cooler, topping out in the mid-80s. Sunny skies will dominate the forecast, offering little relief from the heat.

As the weekend progresses, temperatures will continue to climb. On Sunday, expect highs to approach 91 degrees in Charleston and 90 in Huntington, with no significant cloud cover to offset the rising heat. The trend intensifies on Monday, as Charleston is set to hit 91 degrees, and Huntington might see the mercury reach 94 degrees.

By Tuesday, temperatures will peak statewide, with highs around 96 degrees in Charleston, 95 in Huntington, and 92 in Parkersburg. Residents should prepare for the heat by staying hydrated and limiting outdoor activities during peak hours.

The warm and dry conditions are expected to persist, with temperatures staying above average throughout the week.
