Charleston, WV – A midweek warm-up will bring scattered rain showers to Charleston and surrounding areas, with temperatures reaching the 60s before cooling off this weekend. While Tuesday starts with only a slight chance of rain, more showers are expected Wednesday night into Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, Charleston will see mostly sunny skies Wednesday with a high near 63°F. A 40% chance of showers develops late Wednesday night, increasing to 70% by Thursday morning. Rainfall will be heaviest between 8 a.m. and noon Thursday, with new precipitation amounts ranging from a tenth to a quarter of an inch.

By Friday, conditions improve, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 50°F. The weekend looks clear, with highs reaching 57°F Saturday and 42°F Sunday, though overnight lows will drop into the 20s.

Drivers on Interstate 64 should prepare for wet roads Wednesday night through Thursday morning. Commuters should allow extra time for travel, especially during peak hours.
